No one should be upset because no one picked the correct numbers to win the large Powerball jackpot last night. It didn't stop people from walking up to the lottery outlets to buy a chance at a multi-million
A mother is headed to jail because she let her kids skip school.
In Kanawha County court, Judge Duke Bloom sentenced Melissa Pennington to 20 days in jail for each of her three children on three counts of second-offense truancy.
Pennington was sentenced to community service earlier this year when it was discovered her children had missed about 50 days of school.
As part of that deal, Pennington was ordered to get her children to class. But she disobeyed that order.
Bloom ruled Pennington can serve the sentence at a drug treatment facility if one can be found.
