The Charleston Catholic baseball team is making a repeat appearance at the state high school baseball tournament.
They will meet Madonna on Friday. The Irish advanced by knocking off Wahama 12-6 in the single A, region 4 finals last week.
To stay sharp for the past week, head coach Bill Mehle has employed various techniques, including playing an exhibition game against another tournament bound team.
"We've done a variety of things, we played Nitro last night which was a great tuneup game for us," said Mehle. "We saw some quality pitching and some great hitters it's a real good opportunity the week of the state tournament. We've had some college guys come in and pitch to give us some good looks from the mound and just trying to mix up practices but also just back to basics"
Charleston Catholic will open up the tournament against Wierton-Madonna on Friday.
