Nitro advanced to the AAA state championship Thursday night.
The Wildcats defeated Fairmont Senior in nine innings, 10-8.
Fairmont jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but Nitro answered back scoring five runs.
Nitro then took a 8-5 lead into the bottom of the seventh, but that's when the Polar Bears answered right back with a three-run double to the game up at eight.
Nitro would score in the top of the ninth on a bases loaded walk and on a wild pitching give the Wildcats a 10-8 lead.
Nitro will now face Princeton on Saturday at 10 a.m. for a Class AAA state title.
