The city of St. Albans is getting back to it's roots by putting on an old fashioned town fair. But while they are remembering the past they are looking toward a better future for their kids.
The fair started back in 1953, but there hasn't been a fair like this one in St. Albans since the 1970's.
Terri Blevins, who owns "A Little Bit of Heaven Cupcakes," grew up in St. Albans and said she loves the idea of reviving the fair.
"We love the small town feel that we grew up with we love knowing our neighbors it takes a village it really does and we want to get the village back," Blevins explained.
A team of volunteers with the St. Albans partnership and the chamber of commerce have been working to put it all together.
They are trying to raise money for a new community center.
The fair kicked off Wednesday at 6 p.m. Activities will continue through Saturday.
