Cabell Midland junior sprinter, Jacob Burcham took last month's West Virginia high school state track meet by storm.
Burcham won first place in the 3200, 1600 and 800 meter races.
This weekend, he turned his attention to a national race in New York City, the Adidas Dream Mile.
Burcham recorded his personal best mile on Saturday with a time of 4:02.73, but it wasn't fastest enough to win.
Bernie Montoya of Arizona, beat Burcham by about a second and a half to win the Dream Mile.
Burcham raced six seconds faster than his last two state track meets.
