Shuman's keeping son's memory alive, bettering community

Posted:

Even out of the darkest suffering, we can re-kindle the great fire of compassion.

Jane and Jim Shuman, who lost their son, Willy, in a drunken-driving accident three years ago, have bravely channeled their pain and sadness into making their community a better place.

They travel the state to promote wearing a seat belt and they're working with the Junior ROTC at George Washington High School, Willy's Alma Mater, to create a nature trail at the school.

They're not only keeping his memory alive, they're truly working for a better West Virginia.
