Former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland made a stop in Ironton to show his support for President Barack Obama's reelection.
It was a part of the Obama for America-Ohio campaign's Southeast Ohio Tour. Strickland was joined with Ironton school teacher, Courtney Johnson, who both spoke to the community on why they felt Obama is the right choice for this country.
"This president doesn't go to the extreme left or right. He's a common sense, focused leader. And I think that's the kind of leadership he will give us going forward and that's the kind of leadership we need. Slow steady progress," said Strickland.
Strickland's next stop was Gallipolis and plans to make several visits to other cities in southern Ohio.
