Fathers were king at this year's West Side Ice Cream Social in Charleston.
The FestivALL event's theme was "Go West Where Father's Day is Best".
There were Father's Day contests, including ice cream eating, golf putting, horseshoe pitching, and a prize for the largest family. And of course, there were free scoops of ice cream cones provided by United Dairy.
Planners said the ice cream social helps give the West Side that small-town feel. "It's kinda that Mayberry feeling. That's what I tell my friends from out of town. You're missing a lot if you don't come to FestivALL, because it's really so much to see and do, and you run into your friends and make new ones. So, it's fun," said Susan Ware of Charleston.
