CHARLESTON, West Virginia -

A West Virginia man is on a mission to raise awareness about the Wounded Warrior Project.

Jamie Summerlin has been running more than 30 miles a day for over 80 days straight. He is traveling from one side of the country to the other.

Sunday he stopped in Charleston and threw out the first pitch at the West Virginia Power game.

Charleston Mayor Danny Jones also gave Summerlin a key to the city.

"It has been super exciting to be back here and to be around my fellow West Virginians," Summerlin said. "They joined me on my run Sunday morning it was very encouraging."

Summerlin is hoping to run a total of 3,300 miles over 100 days. He is a veteran.
