A Sissonville man was killed when the mini-bike he was driving collided head-on with a pickup truck Monday evening.

Larry Wayne Conley, 27, was driving the bike on Derrick's Creek Road when he hit a pickup truck driven by Charles F. Summers Jr., 50, also of Sissonville, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department.

A passenger on the mini-bike, Brittany Rendone, 20, was ejected in the crash, according to the news release. Her condition was not available this morning, but she was able to speak to a deputy last night.

Neither person on the bike were wearing helmets, the news release states.

Summers and two children in his truck were restrained and were not injured in the wreck, according to the news release.

Witnesses told deputies that Conley was driving the bike at a high rate of speed for the area and was traveling on the wrong side of the road when the wreck happened, the news release states.

The investigation into the wreck is continuing, but the preliminary findings do not indicate that Summers could have avoided the wreck, according to the news release.
