WVU teams up with Balkan university

Posted: Updated:

MORGANTOWN (AP) — West Virginia University is partnering with a university in the Balkans.

The school is teaming up with the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina. WVU says the partnership was designed to create an exchange of ideas and culture between the two universities as well as to help the Balkan area, which is still recovering from the Bosnian War in the 1990s.

American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina is the first career-oriented university in the Western Balkans. The school was founded in 2005 and offers a variety of degree programs at its four mini-campuses. It has an exclusively English-language curriculum taught by professors educated in American and European universities.
