The case against a former senatorial candidate is going to a grand jury.
Clay County Magistrate Jeff Boggs found probable cause to send Hiram Lewis' case to the grand jury.
Lewis is a former candidate for state attorney general and lawyer. He has been charged with malicious wounding and wanton endangerment after he shot Stephen Bogart in the knee, according to police.
Lewis maintains the shooting was done in self-defense. Boggs reduced his bail amount to $70,000.
