Wayne family gets new home after devastating tornado damage

A Dunlow family gets a new home after a tornado ripped through the house they were living in Wayne county thanks to Habitat for Humanity.

Josh and Vanessa Toney and their eight-month old son Noah were part of a wall raising ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

Volunteers from several church groups came together to help build a new home for the couple who lost nearly everything during the tornado outbreak that swept though the area back in March.

Josh Toney says he is excited about the project because he enjoys doing carpentry work on the house he will soon call his own.

Habitat recipients are required to put in many hours in sweat equity to be eligible for a house.

The couple and their son were honored in a brief ceremony surrounded by volunteers, Delegates, and a prayer from Reverend Jacob Steele.

The couple hopes to move in their new home by September.
