Kids from all across our area got the chance to reach for the stars thanks to a partnership between NASA and a local school.
West Virginia State University hosted the Eighth Annual NASA Day to teach children about engineering and science.
The kids then put that knowledge to practical use through interactive activities like launching bottle rockets.
The event began back in 2005 to encourage young people to pursue careers in engineering, technology, science and math.
Organizers say it's a great way for kids to become exposed to those areas and have fun in the process.
