Daniel Boyd is an author and producer whose signature work is centered around horror comic anthologies.
Boyd was Taylor Books in Charleston on Tuesday evening, signing copies of his book "Chillers". The movie version became a cult classic in the Kanawha Valley. Boyd is an assistant professor of communications and media at West Virginia State University. He said he gets his inspiration for fear from all things creepy.
"And I always liked creepy comics. The crazy and creepy and those horror anthology comics of the 60s and 70s. So, I thought that would be the most practical way to break into a feature film, with shorter stories put together. And it worked out pretty good," said Boyd.
The event was part of FestivALL, taking place throughout Charleston until Sunday, June 24.
