A 14-year-old boy was injured after being hit by an SUV on Tuesday.
It happened at about 10:15 p.m. on Shela Boulevard in Porter Township which is near Wheelersburg, Ohio, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Charlie Howell was struck by the vehicle while he was in the road trying to help an injured dog, police said. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene.
Troopers said they are looking for a black SUV with damage to the front. Howell was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Anyone who has any information about this is asked to contact the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
