No one should be upset because no one picked the correct numbers to win the large Powerball jackpot last night. It didn't stop people from walking up to the lottery outlets to buy a chance at a multi-million
A Portsmouth, Ohio,
man was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of chemicals used to
manufacture methamphetamine.
Detectives with the Scioto County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit arrested Joshua
D. Oliver, 32, at about 1:10 a.m.,
according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.
Early Wednesday morning, Deputy Craig Ashley spotted a vehicle in the 7600
block of state Route 139, the news release states. Because the vehicle had a
defect, Ashley pulled over the driver.
During the traffic stop, the deputy saw suspicious materials, according to
the news release. With help from the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force and
Portsmouth Municipal Court Probation Department, the vehicle was searched,
which is when the suspected meth-making material was found.
Oliver was charged with illegal assembly and/or possession of chemicals for
the manufacture of meth, with is a third-degree felony, and probation
violation, the news release states. He was taken to the Scioto County Jail pending
arraignment in Portsmouth Municipal Court. Because of the probation violation,
he was being held without bond.
