Wednesday, Ball State University released its 2012 Manufacturing and Logistics Report Card and West Virginia did not fare too well.
The Mountain State received a "C-" for manufacturing and a "C" for logistics in 2012, according to the report.
The in-depth analysis graded all 50 states on how they handled those factors.
In other areas, West Virginia received an "F" for human capital and worker benefit costs and a "D-" for productivity and innovation.
Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kansas and Iowa received A's in this year's report.
