While people across West Virginia were celebrating the state's birthday Wednesday, it was a regular work day for some state workers.
With thousands of businesses across the state facing an important annual report filing deadline on Saturday, June 30, the Secretary of State's office was open on Wednesday to answer questions from business owners.
Secretary of State Natalie Tennant said while it was an important day for West Virginians, for business owners it was another day closer to the filing deadline. "I love celebrating West Virginia Day. At the same time, it is important for us to be open because we are able to serve business owners, lawyers, bankers, who have to meet a critical deadline in about ten days. So we wanted to be open and be able to serve those folks," said Tennant.
Business owners can file those annual reports, which include information like a business's officers and address, online on the website business4wv.com. The filing deadline is midnight on Saturday, June 30.
