No one should be upset because no one picked the correct numbers to win the large Powerball jackpot last night. It didn't stop people from walking up to the lottery outlets to buy a chance at a multi-million
A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a truck in Institute this morning.
Charles A. White, 58, was walking along state Route 25 in front of the Go-Mart store when he stepped into the path of a semi-truck that was traveling without a trailer, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
Witnesses told police they were unsure why White veered into the truck's path, but that there was no way for the driver to avoid him, the news release states.
White was taken to Thomas Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the news release states.
The Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Unit was working this morning to recreate the accident, according to the news release. Cpl. D.J. Waller and Deputy H. Shipman are investigating.
