The city of Kenova has issued a boil water advisory due to construction on a main water line leak on Buffalo Creek road.

Residents of Buffalo Creek north of Rice Branch, Rice Branch and Teel Branch are affected.

The city tells residents to boil their water for at least one minute and let cool before using.

Boiled or bottled water should be used for drink, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation.

Crews are repairing damages and water testing will be performed and sent to the state lab for analysis.

They hope to fix the problem within two to three days.
