West Virginia residents who are served by Mountaineer Gas may attend a series of upcoming public hearings, as the West Virginia Public Service Commission considers approval of a rate increase.
In November 2011, Mountaineer Gas filed a rate increase request with the WVPSC. The proposed increased rates and charges will produce approximately $12.18 million annually in additional revenue for the utility, according to a news release from the AARP. The group stated that the increase will result in an increase of $3.40/month (5.16%) for residential customers.
The West Virginia Public Service Commission will host a series of public hearings:

The Commission will hold evidentiary hearings on the case July 17-19 in Charleston.
