No one should be upset because no one picked the correct numbers to win the large Powerball jackpot last night. It didn't stop people from walking up to the lottery outlets to buy a chance at a multi-million

The International Conductors Conference is being held on the campus of West Virginia State University the week of June 18 - 23.
Conductors will be working with an orchestra as part of the event. Scott Woodard, WVSU Director of Bands and Chair of the Music Department, created and coordinated the event, according to a news release from West Virginia State University.
The ten conductors participating include two WVSU advanced conducting students along with individuals from as far away as Korea and India.
They convened on the campus early in the week for a series of workshops focusing on the orchestral conducting method of Ilya Musin. Musin taught conducting at the Leningrad Conservatory for 67 years. He was the first to develop a system of allowing students to communicate with the orchestra via the hands with a minimum of verbal instruction.
The week will culminate in a public performance on Saturday, June 23, at 12:15 p.m. in the WVSU Davis Fine Arts Building. The event is free and open to the public.
