West Virginia University's College of Business and Economics is accepting nominations through Aug. 15 for inductees into the West Virginia Business Hall of Fame.

"The college is excited about opening nominations for the Business Hall of Fame," said Jose Sartarelli, Milan Puskar Dean, WVU College of Business and Economics.

"Those who have been inducted since the inception of the Hall of Fame in 2001 have set the bar very high," Sartarelli said. "That group is made up of pioneers, visionaries and entrepreneurs who have left a very definitive mark on our state."

Last year's Hall of Fame inductees were Stuart M. Robbins, Fred T. Tattersall, Douglas R. Van Scoy and Kimberly B. Knopf.

To date, 50 businesspeople have been inducted.

"Publicly recognizing extraordinary business leaders and establishing a record of their achievement is important for many reasons," Sartarelli said. "These individuals and their contributions remind us of the constant need for renewal and change and the opportunity for economic success, particularly in West Virginia. Moreover, they serve as role models for our state's business students, those just beginning their careers and for new entrepreneurs."

The induction ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 8 in Morgantown.

A list of past inductees and nomination packet downloads may be found on the College of Business and Economics website.
