Charleston police plan sobriety checkpoints

Charleston Police officers will be conducting sobriety checkpoints on Tuesday, June 26 and Wednesday, June 27.

Both checkpoints will begin at 6 p.m. and conclude around midnight according to a news release from the Charleston Police Department.

The checkpoint on June 26 will be set up on MacCorkle Avenue west of Route 119.

Police plan to set up the checkpoint on June 27 in the 6800 block of MacCorkle Avenue.

The checkpoints are part of an ongoing effort to curb impaired driving and enforce other traffic laws.
