A Kanawha County man who was expected to take a plea deal on robbery charges Monday, has now asked for a trial by jury.

Desean Marques Saunders is accused of robbing Jolie's Parlor in Nitro. He was set to plead guilty to the charge on Monday, but instead he asked the judge for a jury trial.

A co-defendant in the case made a deal that she would work with prosecutors, and in exchange, she'll get probation.

Saunders is now supposed to go to trial at the end of July.
