Former state GOP treasurer Hiram Lewis was released on bond early Saturday.

Lewis was charged with malicious wounding on June 13 after shooting someone in the leg who was trying allegedly trying to break into his house.

On Lewis' Facebook page, he said his law license has been suspended because of his arrest, and while he was behind bars, his home was broken into, with several hundreds of dollars worth of personal property stolen.

James Tyler, a self described friend of the Lewis family claims Lewis had been acting erratically for weeks before the shooting.

Lewis tells 13News that Tyler was a former client. He denies any erratic behavior.
