Red Cross claims emergency blood shortage

Despite a recent push to gain more blood donations from the Red Cross, the organization stated in a press release there is an emergency need for more.

The Greater Alleghenies Blood Services Region, which includes 100 counties in parts of Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia is asking for more people to step up and give blood.

Here is a list of a few blood drives scheduled in the tri-state area this summer:

 

 July 3 Central United Methodist Church 301 Fairmont Ave, Fairmont, WV 1pm - 7pm
 July 3 WVU Student Commuter Program 1112 Van Voorhis Rd, Morgantown, WV 10am-4pm
 July 4 Lost Creek Community Center Railroad Ave, Lost Creek, WV 9am - 2pm
 July 5 WVU Health Science Center Medical Center Dr, Morgantown, WV 9am-3pm
 July 5 Lumberport Volunteer Fire Dept 315 Main St, Lumberport, WV 1:30pm - 6:30pm
 July 6 Spruce St United Methodist Chruch 389 Spruce St, Morgantown, WV 11am-5pm
 July 10 Horizons Church Mount Clare Rd, Lost Creek, WV 1pm - 7pm
 July 10 Salem Baptist Church 153 E Main St, Salem, WV 1pm - 7pm
 July 11 United Hospital Center 327 Medical Park Dr, Bridgeport, WV 10am - 4pm
