Veterinarians tell us
it's best to keep your animals inside if at all possible.
If you can't keep them
inside, a nice shady area with a fan for short periods of time is okay.
If you notice that your
dog looks a little overheated, it's important to cool them down immediately. Alcohol on their feet
can help.
Having your animal
groomed can keep your pet cool.
We
spoke with one veterinarian who tells us what to do if you think you pet may be
too hot. Dr.
Eric Lee says, "If you notice any symptoms or if they start to breath
particularly hard or harder than you expect them to when they normally should
be panting get them out of the heat, get them somewhere cool get their feet
bathed down in alcohol, just try to get that temperature down. Get some cool water on them. Anything that can cool them off."
Dr.
Lee says not to risks your pets health when it comes to playing in the
outdoors.
