No one should be upset because no one picked the correct numbers to win the large Powerball jackpot last night. It didn't stop people from walking up to the lottery outlets to buy a chance at a multi-million

On July 2, 2012, the Huntington VA Medical Center will mark the first anniversary of its Homeless Veterans Resource Center in downtown Huntington with a Stand Down for area homeless Veterans.
The Stand Down offers Veterans a day of safety and security away from the day-to-day stressors of homelessness.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Center located at 624 9th Street.
Homeless Veterans and those at risk for homelessness will be provided food, clothing, shelter, and other assistance.
"The Stand Down will provide basic health screenings, job and housing referrals and information about VA benefits and assistance programs," said Lee Ann Bills, VA Homeless Coordinator. "We will also be able to link Veterans directly to housing resources and assistance."
For more information about the Stand Down and services for homeless Veterans, contact the Homeless Veterans Resource Center at 304.429.6755, extension 4602.
