A preliminary hearing has been set for the former member of Hurricane City Council accused of sending sexually-explicit text messages to a 13-year-old girl.

Scott Cunningham is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Friday afternoon at 2:45 p.m. in Putnam County Magistrate Court.

He is accused of sending sexually-explicit text messages to a girl who lives in his neighborhood. In one of those messages he asks the girl to send a naked picture of herself to him.

Cunningham was arrested Wednesday afternoon and resigned from Hurricane City Council a few hours later.

He is currently free on a $15,000 bond.
