Highland Hospital in Charleston showed off its new facilities today after a $ 29 million construction project.
Some of the biggest improvements include 73,000 square feet of new space for twice as many beds than what they could hold before.
The hospital had to turn patients away in the past, due to having limited space Hospital officials say this is an improvement long awaited for.
"Finally, we have a new top-notch environment and a facility that actually matches our quality of care," said hospital spokesperson Jim Strawn. "Our patients couldn't be happier. Our families that we provide service to are so excited about this, as is our staff. It's a big day for the health care delivery system in West Virginia."
The new space also opens up 30 to 40 new jobs at the hospital.
