Community leaders discuss improving education in West Virginia

Posted: Updated:

Parents, teachers, schools administrators, and community leaders met to discuss ways to improve your child's education.  Governor Earl Ray Tomblin appeared at the forum, in a pre-recorded message, at the state capitol.

Community members discussed the findings of a 2010 education audit, reviewed by Vision Shared Incorporated, which is an area non-profit group.  The audit focused on savings and efficiencies that could be created in the school system, such as teacher training and technology.

People who attended were given the chance to share their thoughts.  Other forums are planned in Wheeling and Beckley next month.
