2 suspects charged in United Bank robbery at Charleston mall waive preliminary hearings

The two men charged in the armed bank robbery at the Charleston Town Center Mall on June 21, waived their right to a preliminary hearing on Friday.

The robbery happened at the United Bank branch inside the mall.

Billy Reed and Anthony Williams are both facing bank robbery charges.

Police said one man came in with a hand gun and the other had a squirt gun. No one was injured during the incident and eyewitnesses gathered up money that the suspects dropped, returning it to police.
