HUNTINGTON, West Virginia -
With so many people using their air conditioners during this heat wave, it's causing some to break. It's keeping air conditioning repair personnel very busy.
Benji Black of Black's Heating and Cooling said they've seen an 80 percent increase in business compared to a normal summer day.
For most calls Black said repair crews are replacing the capacitor in the units because of the increased use of air conditioners.
"There's a huge power drop in the power lines which causes that part to die and that's a small part of what we usually have to change like almost every call," said Black.
Repairing broken air conditioners has meant a boost in business and Black expects that to continue throughout the summer.
