Ohio State Highway patrol had received a report of a one vehicle crash on SR93 near the 12 mile post in Lawrence County, near Ironton.
When troopers arrived, officers determined a vehicle had been traveling northbound when it lost control, and went off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree ejecting both occupants who were not wearing seatbelts.
The driver Nathaniel Bloomfield, 27 , Pedro was transported to St Mary's Medical Center and is listed in critical/stable condition. The passenger John R. Markel, 62, Pedro was pronounced dead at the scene, by the Lawrence County Coroner.
