The Kanawha County Emergency Operations Center has asked any church with power open a cooling and comfort shelter after Friday evening storms left almost 80,000 Appalachian Power customers without power.
Kanawha Emergency Management has asked any church able to become a shelter to contact -its office at (304) 746-8748.
