Power has been restored to Cabell Hunting Hospital as of 10 a.m. Saturday.
According to a press release, "We are pleased to report that Cabell Huntington Hospital is now fully operational with full service power and staff has resumed their normal work to provide our community the highest quality of healthcare," stated Brent Marsteller, President and CEO of Cabell Huntington Hospital.
We were able to use emergency power sources for critical needs throughout the hospital. During the outage our staff took precautions to protect our patients and to provide the best possible care during a challenging time. Some of our most critical patients were transferred to other medical facilities throughout the region because of concerns about the rising temperatures, and we appreciate our healthcare neighbors for assisting us throughout the outage.
We want to thank American Electric Power for their fast return to full service, as well as Cabell County EMS Director Gordon Merry, Cabell County Emergency Medical Services, and county and state emergency officials for their support.
We recognize that this has been an unprecedented undertaking for our hospital and we appreciate the cooperation from our patients and their families."
