The Ohio Department of Transportation has released an updated list of closed routes as of 12 p.m. Saturday.
According to a press release, "U.S. Route 50 in Highland County is now open to traffic, as well as state Route 763 in Brown County and S.R. 93, between Jackson and Oak Hill in Jackson County."
The following routes, however, remain closed today, June 30, due to downed power lines and debris:
• Brown-221-6.0, south of Georgetown;
• Jackson-93-20.58, at Coalton;
• Jackson-788-0.00, between Jackson and S.R. 93 near Wellston;
• Pike-551-1.00/2.20, between S.R. 220 and S.R. 104 at Lake White;
• Pike-220-6.40, between S.R. 552 and Waverly;
• Pike-335-6.0, between S.R. 32 and Beaver.
In addition, traffic signals are not operating at many locations due to power outages. Signal electricians are responding to sites across the area; however, motorists are reminded to treat these intersections as four-way stops.
Due to numerous power outages and downed power lines, there is no indication as to when the affected routes will be restored to traffic. However, the closures are anticipated to be in effect throughout the remainder of the weekend.
Cleanup efforts by ODOT forces and utility crews will continue, and motorists are reminded of the continued need for additional caution, paying heed to debris, power lines and work crews."
