HUNTINGTON, West Virginia -
Lindsay Townson of Huntington starts the overwhelming task of cleaning up after a tree falls on her porch with her family a few feet away.
High winds from Friday night's storm caused the tree to fall down.
"Actually it wasn't very noisy at all. It fell but we really didn't hear anything but a branch and looked out our window and it was lying on our porch," said Townson.
The damage from the tree took its toll on the family of four.
"My son just got a new bike for his birthday. We had a swing on the porch," said Townson.
Downed branches and trees from the storm kept crews from the city of Huntington busy for most of Friday night and all day Saturday.
"We have stuff everywhere. Limbs and debris are all over the streets and roadways. We're doing the best we can to get it done. We've got three crews out right now. We'll be out pretty much the rest of the day until we get some of it cleaned up," said Vincent Early, Tree Foreman for the City of Huntington.
"We're devastated. We've done a lot of work on this house and we remodeled the whole inside. We've done a lot of work and to see it all crash down was definitely devastating," said Townson.
In the midst of the damage Lindsay is staying positive. She said friends have promised to help clean-up and the family plans to rebuild.
