Boyd County officials in Kentucky have been working around the clock to restore power and clear trees from roadways. City government and emergency management officials in Ashland joined forces to try to get Ashland residents back to normal.
Cooling stations have been set up at several locations and fire stations for those residents without power.
"Crews from surrounding areas are trying to get power up and running to critical locations. Emergency management and all the officials in county government are trying to get citizens back on their feet and try to get things back to normal," said Major Todd Kelley with the Ashland Police Department.
The Ashland Red Cross is urging residents to check on their elderly residents without power during this time.
