Three escape massive fire in a home on Walnut Street in Kanawha County
A Lawrence County, Ohio man is dead following a one-car crash.
The accident happened shortly before 6 p.m. Friday on State Route 93, about 12 miles north of Ironton.
Authorities said 62-year-old John Markel of Pedro died at the scene of the crash. The driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Nathaniel Bloomfield of Pedro is in critical condition at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Investigators said the driver lost control of his vehicle, went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
Markel and Bloomfield were ejected from the vehicle because they were not wearing seat belts.
