Three escape massive fire in a home on Walnut Street in Kanawha County
The Kanawha County Courthouse Complex will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, July 2 with only essential employees, according to a news release from the county.
Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper consulted with other officials, according to the news release, in making the decision.
"We will staff the courthouse with a skeleton crew for anyone who would come to the courthouse to conduct business," Carper said in the news release. "We are asking our employees to stay home if they have a personal situation that would require them to stay home. We do not want anyone to risk their safety to come to work."
The Kanawha County Courthouse Complex decision does not affect essential services such as law enforcement, Yeager Airport flights, response from the ambulance authority or public transit, according to the news release.
