AEP Ohio issued a news release Sunday evening updating the numbers of customers it has been able to restore after severe storms left 660,000 customers without power.
The news release stated AEP Ohio was able to restore power to 221,000 of those customers, but approximately 436,000 customers remained.
About 45 percent of AEP Ohio customers were left without electricity at the peak of the storm June 29, according to the news release.
AEP Ohio has more than 4,000 internal and external resources working on restoring power to customers, and personnel have been dedicated to system repairs for 16 hours per day.
