The State of West Virginia has no clear plan as to when state workers will return to their jobs following this weekend's storms.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin announced Sunday that only essential state employees should report to work Monday. "Essential" employees are those designated as such by their commissioners, directors or secretaries; those who work in facilities open on a 24-hour basis; or those who provide services relating to health and safety, according to an email from Sunday.

According to a spokeswoman from the governor's office, Tomblin has not established a plan for the rest of the week. She said she would notify the State Journal as soon as a plan is established. State workers are off Wednesday in observance of Independence Day.
