Despite widespread power outages from a June 30 storm, several area Fourth of July celebrations will go on as planned.

In Charleston, the celebration scheduled for 8:45 p.m. Tuesday night at Haddad Riverfront Park starting with the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra will continue as planned.

In Huntington, the annual July Fourth celebration at Camden Park will continue as scheduled.

"Escape the heat and power outages and come celebrate America's birthday and independence with us," Camden Park wrote in a news release. "Enjoy 25 rides and attractions, air-conditioned arcade, shops and restaurant; cool off with a paddleboat ride or play a round of miniature golf."

In Roane County, the city of Spencer's Independence Day plans will continue as scheduled, with a fireworks display at 10 p.m. behind state hospital hill behind Walmart.

In Ripley, all Fourth of July celebrations are scheduled to continue, starting with a concert from American Idol finalist Chase Likens at 11 a.m. at the Jackson County Courthouse Lawn. In the evening, the band "No one you know" will play at 6 p.m. on the courthouse lawn, followed by the Davisson Brothers Band at 8:30 p.m. just before a fireworks display.

The West Virginia Arts and Craft Fair in Ripley also will continue as scheduled, from July 5-7 at Cedar Lakes Conference Center near Ripley.
