No one should be upset because no one picked the correct numbers to win the large Powerball jackpot last night. It didn't stop people from walking up to the lottery outlets to buy a chance at a multi-million
A Huntington woman was sentenced to two and a half year years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute heroin, according to a press release sent by U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin. Lawanna D. Hamlin, 34, of Huntington, previously pleaded guilty in March.
According to the release, "On October 14, 2011, members of the Huntington Violent Crime and Drug Task Force conducted a search of the defendant's Huntington residence and subsequently seized various items including: approximately 10 grams of crack cocaine; a quantity of heroin; three digital scales; two .40 caliber handguns; and, approximately $577 cash. Prior to executing the search warrant on the defendant's residence, Task Force agents had conducted three separate controlled purchases of .5 grams of heroin from the defendant on June 13, June 14 and October 12, 2011.
The Huntington Violent Crime and Drug Task Force conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Gregory McVey handled the prosecution. United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers presided over the sentencing."
