WINFIELD, West Virginia -
A park in Putnam County was destroyed by Friday's storms.
The damage is still visible at the Hometown Roadside Park along Route 62.
High winds toppled trees onto both shelters at the park, completely destroying both.
One of the shelters was just two years old.
Parks director Scott Williamson said he totaling the damage cost, but he plans to rebuild the shelters because Route 62 has been declared a scenic byway and the park is a nice stop for motorists.
