FirstEnergy Foundation donates $5,000 to food drive

The FirstEnergy Foundation has donated $5,000 to the Volunteer West Virginia Food Drive.  The money will go towards  much needed supplies for the state's food banks and pantries, according to a press release from the company.

"When disaster strikes the communities we serve, we understand the hardships that arise and are here to help in every way possible," said Jim Haney, president of West Virginia Operations for FirstEnergy. "We're glad that the FirstEnergy Foundation grant can assist food pantries in providing for residents as they recover from the storm."

The press release continued, "In addition to The FirstEnergy Foundation's grant, the company established 10 locations across West Virginia where residents without power from the storm could receive free water and ice.
