WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, West Virginia -

Businesses in White Sulphur Springs are bracing for a rush of new customers as the Greenbrier Classic gets started this week.

They are doing things like ordering extra supplies, calling in more staff and extending their hours.

Some business, like Mel's Diner, weren't open for the classic last year, making it an exciting time in this small community.

"You can see people sprucing up their property," said Mel's Diner owner Melody Ross. "They are cleaning the streets painting. I'm painting the diner. It's just fabulous."

Many business owners also have signs out in front of their stores welcoming golfer and fans to town.
